NORTH AMERICAN & EUROPEAN SOFT WOODS
There are numerous European softwoods, including Douglas Fir, Whitewood, Redwood, Larch, Cedar and many more. All of these European softwood timbers have multiple uses, including joinery, furniture and cabinet making, construction etc. As an importer we sell Douglas Fir as predominantly fresh sawn material for joinery and construction. Whitewood is sold generally for carcassing, inexpensive construction and painted material. Redwood for anything from flooring to cladding or roof joists to picture framing. Larch is generally sold for cladding, decking or marine applications and Cedar for construction and joinery.

European softwood timber plantations are currently in surplus with more than one new tree planted for every one felled and converting timber into a usable building material, generates far less greenhouse gases than any other mainstream alternative. NORTH AMERICAN SPECIES
Part of a larger group of tree species known as softwoods, in the wood industry, Spruce-pine-fir refers to Canadian woods of similar characteristics that have been grouped for production and marketing. Mainly used to make dimensional lumber for home building and panels, the SPF species have moderate strength, are worked easily, take paint readily, and hold nails well. They are white to pale yellow in color.
